Coach's Game day Reports

Match Report 15/10/11
Saturday's game against the Steelers had a kickoff time of 4:30. By 3pm the signs 
were ominous that we were going to struggle with numbers and by 4pm, it was certain that we 
were only going to have 10 players.  One of the Wolverines players was quite happy to join
our squad but the officials said that since he was registered with another team he could not
 form part of the starting 11, where is Benny G when you need him.
We ended up having a scratch match against the Steelers and did pretty well. Our Wolf in Fire's
 clothing gave us a starting 11.  The boys did pretty well moving the ball but still could not get across
 the goal line. We lost a couple of players in the second half so the Steelers dropped their onfield side 
to match us 9 on 9 but when we lost another player the officials called the game.
The players made me very proud with their never say die attitude.

Friday Night Game:The West Coast Cup Game

Match Report 7/10/11

There was a heavy expectation for our Friday evening season opener against the West Coast Wolverines. Everyone was

abuzz before the game started. We had an unexpected late addition with the return of season 1 veteran Stuart Betts.

The Wolves won the toss and decided they wanted to receive.The kickoff went well  but the wolves ended up with their

first of too many TD's. The first half went all their way and we went into the long break 34 points down.

We received the kickoff to start the second half and had a successful drive. We drove the ball most of the

way down field until we had a most unfortunate fumble and turned it over. The fumble seemed to take the wind

out of our sails and we struggled to hold them for the second half but we did hold them to 28 points.

The final score was 64-0. The guys fought valiantly, however fatigue beat us.

At the end of the game Our head Coach Danny Bayliss informed the players and the club that this game would

be his last as Coach as he is moving on and handing the position of head coach over to Joe Ritacca.

He thanked the players and the assistant coach's for their dedication and hard work and wished

them all the best. Danny will be still active with in the club and looks forward to the club moving forward.
